MARK RICHMOND
Partner

Mark was born in Hannibal, Missouri in 1951. He is married to Colleen (former Summit County Clerk and Recorder) and has two sons, Andrew and Peter. Mark graduated from Missouri State (fka SW Mo. State) University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974, and the University of Denver Law School in 1978. Mark has been a resident of Summit County since 1979.  He was formerly employed by J. Albert Bauer, Breckenridge, Colorado from 1979-83. Mark started Richmond & Canning in 1983 with Mike Canning at the present office location in Frisco.  His practice emphasizes real estate, homeowner associations, business entities and special districts. 

Mark is the founder and former owner of Continental Divide Title Co. and an original investor and founding member of Backcounty Brewery and Mt. Royal Plaza in Frisco.

He is the former President of the Summit County Swim Team, and member of Frisco Recreation Master Plan and FROST (Frisco Recreation, Open Space and Trails committees, Summit Nordic Ski Club, and Friends of the Dillon Ranger District.

ANDY RICHMOND

Partner

Andy grew up in Frisco, Colorado and has always called the state home.  Andy has always enjoyed the outdoors and was a cross country skier in high school.  Skiing led him to Western State College in Gunnison where he raced for the NCAA ski team.  Andy was an Academic All-American three separate years at Western.  Andy graduated Cum Laude from Western in 2007.  After college Andy attempted to make the US Olympic Cross Country ski team for the Vancouver Olympics.  He did not make the team but enjoyed the experience of traveling all over the US and Scandinavia in the pursuit.

Andy attended law school at the University of Denver.  During law school he worked as an aide for a Colorado state senator and a Colorado state representative.  He followed that by becoming a law clerk for the Executive Director’s Office of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources.  Andy graduated from DU in the summer of 2012 and passed the Colorado bar exam in February 2013.

After law school, Andy moved back to Gunnison where he practiced with Luke Danielson for three years.  Andy then started his own solo firm serving the Gunnison valley.  In 2018 Andy decided to move back to his hometown of Frisco and practice with his father, Mark Richmond with Richmond Summit Law, LLC.

Outside of the office Andy enjoys skiing of all types, running, climbing, rafting and biking.  He considers the Summit County an unparalleled setting to pursue all he is passionate about.

BRIAN ROSSER
Attorney

Brian Rosser is a seasoned ski industry professional with over 28 years of experience in all aspects of mountain resort operations. He holds expertise in ski area management, ski patrol operations, lift maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

 

Nationally recognized for his presentations and legal acumen, Brian is also an active member of the National Ski Patrol and serves on the ANSI B77.1 Committee. As an Adjunct Professor at Colorado Mountain College, he shares his knowledge of ski area operations. With a focus on risk management and legal practices, Brian is admitted to the Tennessee, North Carolina, and Colorado Bar.

 

Brian resides in Frisco, Colorado, enjoying mountain adventures with his family when not working.

DAN RUNION
Attorney

Dan is a corporate and tax attorney with 30+ years of professional experience.  He is admitted as an attorney in Colorado, Missouri, Kansas, and the United States Tax Court, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Dan focuses on helping individuals, both personally and as business owners, steer through legal matters with a primary focus on: 

  • starting and operating a business 

  • acquiring, selling, or otherwise transitioning ownership of businesses 

  • letters of intent or memorandums of understanding 

  • resolving business disputes, including business valuation

  • general counsel like services 

  • commercial real estate purchase, sale, and leasing

  • employment agreements 

  • charitable/non-profit organizations (501(c)) 

  • contested tax matters at federal and state level, including income tax, employment tax, sales tax and other tax matters

  • employment contracts, non-compete and non-disclosure agreements

  • wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning

 Dan is married with two adult children (one who lives in Frisco), and works/plays both in Summit County and Prairie Village, a suburb of Kansas City. He is also a recent past two-term member of the City Council of Prairie Village and served as Chair of its Finance, Pension, and Insurance Committees, respectively.
